As a school wide project for the new year, Highland Elementary collected canned and other food items to promote community awareness for those who are in need. All food collected was donated to the Center for Hope Food Bank in Ambridge. All children who participated received a small token thank you item donated by UPMC’s Dignity and Respect for Youth program. We had an outstanding response! The total items of food collected in each category are as follows:

Tuna fish – 101

Canned soups – 144

Cereal – 48

Instant potatoes – 35

Spaghetti sauce – 29

Canned Fruit – 86

Other food items - 196
