Bright Star Touring Theatre Company presented Sadie’s Spectacular Saturday to students at Economy Elementary.  Sadie the caterpillar has “turned over a new leaf” by starting classes at a brand new school.

Alas, a bullying cockroach is working to ensure none of the bugs befriend her.  Determined not to be made fun of, she meets a very different ladybug and learns that true beauty comes from within!  When she becomes a butterfly, Sadie realizes that she has transformed more than just herself!  This anti-bullying adventure taught the students good judgment, kindness, friendship, and respect!

On December 19th, the AAHS Anti-Bully Team along with special guest speaker, Terrance Moses, presented on “Bully Prevention & Overcoming Odds” at all of the schools in the district. This fun-filled day consisted of information on bully prevention and intervention by the Anti-Bully Team. In addition to a motivational talk and positive rap by our guest speaker, Terrance Moses.

All of the schools turned out to be great audiences, as they listened intently, asked insightful questions, and danced along to the music. We were thankful to have Terrance join us for the day and share about his hardships and accomplishments. We hope this presentation inspire someone to stay in school and keep working toward their goals.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Elementary PTA/ PTO’s for funding this event. We would also like to thank the principals and administration for supporting this anti-bullying initiative.

Ambridge Anti-Bully Team presents at County Wide In-Service

Ambridge’s Anti-Bully Team partnered with UPMC in presenting the “Dignity & Respect Campaign” to Beaver County Schools on October 10, 2011 at the County Wide In-Service.  The “Dignity & Respect Campaign” started in UPMC hospitals and business in 2008. In recent years, this campaign has spread from UPMC business to communities and schools throughout the region. Now, over 100 schools and 50 businesses have joined the “Dignity & Respect Campaign”.

This campaign challenges individuals, schools, and communities to treat all people with dignity and respect which fosters an environment of inclusion and acceptance. The Anti-Bully Team is excited to be a part of this County Wide Kick Off Event for the Dignity & Respect Campaign. We’re looking forward to incorporating this concept of dignity & respect into our bully prevention initiatives.
