School Psychologists

School Psychologists are uniquely qualified professionals who have training in education and psychology that allows for a deeper understanding of student needs and amplifies their ability to be impactful within the school setting. The training of a School Psychologist focuses specifically on mental health and educational interventions, child development, learning, behavior, motivation, curriculum and instruction, assessment, consultation, collaboration, school law, and systems. The School Psychologists of the Ambridge Area School District strive to provide high quality services to all students and families, in addition to engaging in meaningful collaboration and consultation with stakeholders.

WHAT DO SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS DO?
School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
