Welcome to the Class of 2033!
It is with great excitement that the faculty and staff welcome you to the Highland family. While your child begins their education at a time of great uncertainty, please know that the faculty and staff at Highland spent the summer working hard to put practices and procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of the entire school community while also making sure that all students have the best possible educational experience.
In an effort to social distance, and to keep all staff and students safe, this year’s mandatory kindergarten orientation will take place virtually on Thursday, August 13 at 9:30 A.M. We will provide and virtual tour of the building and explain the daily routine that your child will experience every day. Please familiarize yourself with the district website, and the Highland Elementary School page, for updates relating the COVID-19.
While the school plays a significant role in educating students, we believe that parents play an important role in reinforcing concepts taught in the Kindergarten classroom. Enclosed in this packet is a variety of information to help parents prepare their students for the first day of school, and to support students as they progress through the school year. In addition, a Kindergarten contact sheet to return to your child’s teacher (in person or via email). This information helps us to keep open the lines of communication between the school and home.
The Highland faculty is dedicated to providing our students the best possible education experience.
