Kimberly Ann Tirik, 1982 Graduate
Ms. Kim Tirik is a 1982 graduate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Secondary Education Teaching Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. She excelled at basketball and finished her high school career with 1,756 points, which was the 2nd highest for boys and girls in Beaver County history in 1982. Ms. Tirik garnered numerous awards, including: first team All-State, Street & Smith and Converse honorable mention All-America, WPIAL AAA Player of the Year, Section 2-AAA MVP, and a two-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 5 selection. She received an athletic scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh, where she led her team to a Big East title her sophomore season as the point guard. She finished her career in the top ten in three statistical categories. She ranks 2nd in assists, 7th in blocks, and 9th in steals. Ms. Tirik was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame, the Ambridge Sports Hall of Fame, and the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame. She began her professional career with the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Teacher. During her career, she was the Employee of the Month multiple times and received Outstanding evaluations for her exemplary service. She was promoted to the Supervisor of Education and oversaw the Education and Recreation Departments until she retired in 2018.
