This project will require Prevailing Wage Rates. The Sealed Bid Meeting has been moved to Monday 4/15/2024 at 11:00am in the Business Office to allow you to make any adjustments needed.

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Ambridge Area School District Administrative Office located at 901 Duss Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003 on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM. At this time, all Bidders will have the opportunity to ask questions and familiarize themselves with the project. Sealed Bids are due by 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the Administrative Office, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids must be sealed and clearly marked “Concrete Pad Project for Reinforced Steel Structure”.

If your total bid is at least $25,000, this will be considered a “Prevailing Wage Job.” It will be the responsibility of the Bidder to provide the correct hourly rate for each worker. Certified Payroll information shall be submitted to the Business Office.

The Project generally consists of the grading, site work, base preparation and installation of a concrete monolithic slab (41 x 81’) with base rail anchorage for a 40’ x 80’ reinforced steel building, per Bidding Documents:

• 16 inch monolithic footer below grade, and 8 inch monolithic curb above grade to allow for the material to be below the frost line in Pennsylvania
• 6 mil plastic sheeting, with a two foot overlap, with the seams taped
• 4,000 psi concrete
• 10 gauge wire mesh, with a 6 inch overlap, and/or fiberglass reinforcement
• (2) #4 rebar in the 8 inch monolithic pour, with a two foot overlap

*The Structure will not require any underground utilities, conduit, cable, plumbing, electric, etc.

Each Bid must be submitted on the forms provided and completed in strict accordance with the instructions provided in the Bidding Documents. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in the form of a Certified Check or Corporate Surety Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Proposal made in favor of the Ambridge Area School District.

The Owner reserves the right to accept of reject any or all bids and to waive any technical defects in any Bid. No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn by Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the Bid Opening.
